Hello there!
I am a mother of three children who found breastfeeding to be the highlight of my "baby years." In 2019 I started working as a Breastfeeding Peer at our local WIC clinic and fell in love supporting other mothers in their breastfeeding journeys. And I'm right, huh? Breastfeeding is a journey! Parts can be exciting, new, overwhelming, challenging, etc.
In 2020 I became a Certified Lactation Specialist and over the last couple of years, I have worked to gain my IBCLC certification. Precious Beginnings Lactation Consulting is ready to walk with you in your journey!
Often, as mothers, we need someone to provide education, guidance, assistance, and support as we walk this journey out. The more we learn about this process the more we stand in awe of what we are doing for our children and our bodies! I look forward to working with you!

According to the U. S. Breastfeeding Committee, Initiation Rates in 2023 for Ohio dyads were 83.1%-compared to the 86.1% National average. Of all babies in Defiance County, 85.6% initiated breastfeeding at birth according to the 2023-2024 CDC Report. The following are stats for our other NW regional counties as well: Fulton 82%, Wood 80.1%, Henry 81%, Paulding 82.4%, Williams 81.4%, and Lucas county 68.5%.
The U.S. Breastfeeding Committee also revealed that 30.4% of babies in the state were exclusively breastfeeding at 6 months of age.
I tell you this to encourage you that many other mothers are seeking help to learn and choose to breastfeed.

Prenatal Education Consultation $100
Prior to delivery I come and provide breastfeeding education tailored to your needs. We discuss any goals, pertinent medical information, how lactation works, baby behaviors, holds, etc.
Initial Lactation Consult $150
After delivery I come to provide initial assessment of you and baby. We discuss any concerns with latch or feeding behaviors, do a pre/ post weighted feeding, oral assessment, etc. Each visit varies with mom and baby.
Follow Up Lactation Consult $125
Sometimes ongoing support is needed. These visits vary but are not limited to: oral function, weight gain concerns, supply concerns, feeding plans, pump classes, etc.
Lactation Consult Post Loss- FREE
When a mom suffers a loss of pregnancy this service is to provide support and education regarding options with lactation.

I loved working with Brittney. I had so many questions and I was honestly a very overwhelmed and a little scared going into my first consultation, but she was very professional, super educated, and answered all of my questions.
